After experiencing the accelerator journey firsthand, we built a community platform where graduates can share insights, run collective predictions, and help the next generation of founders navigate the ecosystem.
Our Story
AcceleratorAlumni was founded in June 2024 by Alex Rivera and Priya Sharma. Both are ICON Spark Cohort 1 alumni who saw a gap in the startup ecosystem: thousands of accelerator graduates with valuable firsthand knowledge, but no structured way to share it. What started as a Slack channel for their own cohort has grown into a community of 1,200+ graduates spanning 18 accelerator programs.
The idea was simple. Accelerator alumni understand the selection process, the program experience, and the post-graduation challenges better than anyone. By organizing that collective knowledge — through structured polls, peer assessments, and alumni spotlights — we could create something genuinely useful for founders, investors, and the programs themselves.

Alex went through ICON Spark as part of the inaugural cohort, where he built an early-stage security analytics tool. After the program, he launched a seed-stage security startup that is now serving 6 enterprise customers. The accelerator experience shaped his approach to building — and convinced him that alumni networks are an underutilized resource.

Priya Sharma
Co-Founder
Priya was in the same ICON Spark cohort as Alex. After graduating, she joined an enterprise SaaS company as a product lead, where she applies the customer development skills she honed during the accelerator. She co-founded AcceleratorAlumni because she saw how often former participants wanted to give back — but had no platform to do so.
“When someone asks me about accelerators, I always say the same thing: the program is three months, but the network is forever. We are building the infrastructure for that network.”
